LOOP
The
LOOP is used by Dairy One Farm Service Technicians to upload and
download herd information. It is also used by Dairy Comp 305 and
Scout users to download their test day update files, and by Consultants
to download data for herds that they have permission to access.
Dairy
Producers are set up with a special LOOP sign on when they begin
using their Dairy Comp or Scout Software. After test day the dairy
can tell their software to receive their test day data. It will
call the LOOP. If the data is ready, the DNL file is downloaded
to the dairy PC and new information is then read into their cowfile.
A typical dairy with a good modem will take 2-4 minutes to get their
data transferred.
Consultants
are given a "consultant" sign-on. When they want to begin
accessing a new client, they call the LOOP, and tell it they want
access to herd. The LOOP prompts them for the herd code and then
for that herd's RAC (Records Access Code). After they enter the
RAC, they have access to the herd within 2 hours.
Consultants
must get the RAC number from the dairy.
It is printed on the DHI 213 report just under the name and address.
We can not tell a consultant a dairy's RAC number. Please do not
ask.
Consultants
can use an "auto-download" function to receive all of
their herds that have been updated since their last auto download,
or they can download one specific herd at a time.
There
is no charge to get a LOOP sign on. The charge for using the LOOP
is $5.50 per complete file download.
All
herds that Dairy One Technicians upload are available on the LOOP
if you have the proper authorization.
People
normally get their LOOP sign-on when they get their DCCON Analyzer,
Dairy Comp 305, or Scout Software. If a consultant needs a LOOP
sign-on they should call the Dairy One Center at 1-800-344-2697,
ext. 3 for Dairy Management Resources.
